Whether its hire or tour a bike is definitely a neat way to see this area. We supply a quantity 24-speed, front suspension mountain bike and helmet.

A 4-hour hire will cost $25, while the full day cost is $35.

Many of our clients use the bikes to cycle the 10 km tar-sealed harbour road to the Albatross Centre and other attractions along the Peninsula. This is a pleasant flat trip with beautiful views of the harbour. As there is no public transport to the Centre this is a good option for many.

Also very popular is a ride over the hill into the Papanui and Hoopers Inlets area. The area has abundant birdlife and offers stunning scenery and great beaches. On the beaches it would not be unusual to stumble across a monster Hoopers Sea Lion or a diminutive Penguin.

Cycling on a bit further will get you atop the sheer volcanic cliffs rising out of the ocean or standing at the bizarre Lovers Leap.
